CODIAC Knowledge Engineering.
We build systems that make legal knowledge machine-understandable and advisory work scalable as a result. Our main product: DIMA. Our methods: digitalising creation, application and retention knowledge successfully and at high quality. Sister offering: online services for associations, law firms and insurers. Over 2.5 million cases processed on our platform to date.
What we do.
Knowledge Engineering
We translate legal expertise into a structured, machine-readable form. Laws, rulings, templates and the experience of seasoned advisory experts become data schemas, rules and ontologies. The foundation for AI that invents nothing.

On this foundation we built DIMA: the AI-assisted case-processing system for legal-advisory organisations. 15 modules, deployable in a modular way, from intake to audit-proof archiving. In productive use since 2018 at associations, law firms and insurers.

On the same platform we operate white-label tools for end users: service charge statements, care-level calculator, rental contract and more. Pay-per-use, in the provider's layout, ready to use right away. Our editorial team develops tailored tools on request.

Experienced computational linguists from the Google Assistant world. Doctoral researchers from universities. Software engineers from medical technology and automotive. Led by blue-chip management experience.
“This is the foundation on which we make complex legal matters machine-understandable.”

Knowledge stays in-house.
We build systems in which our customers' experiential knowledge grows, not tools that siphon it off. Building domain knowledge is the prerequisite, not the side effect.
AI within guardrails.
We do not sell generic AI with a free prompt. We build AI that works on defined topics, on structured data and with source evidence. Hallucination rate practically zero.
Humans decide.
Every AI action in our systems is reviewed and approved by the adviser. The degree of autonomy is configurable per organisation, but never at the expense of ultimate responsibility.
Work on the platform on which legal knowledge grows.
We are looking for people who think clearly in complex systems: computational linguistics, software architecture and knowledge engineering. Based in Hamburg, flat hierarchies, a lot of responsibility.
